Will it make my child aggressive??
"Good question! From my experience as a student and teacher, martial arts actually make children less aggressive because they learn to take pride in what they are learning and have nothing to prove to anyone else. Children also learn when to use their martial arts skills and when it would be best to walk/run away or tell an adult."
Will my child get hurt?
While the martial arts can be a contact sport, accidents do accidentally happen. Our team and I are focused on keeping you and your family safe. We will never force a student to do anything they do not want to do. Safety for you and your family is our number one priority.
My child is not athletic / out of shape: should he still take martial arts?
Absolutely. Our encouraging environment is a perfect place for your child to become healthier and become more athletic. With Sensei Marc’s physical therapy background many of our lesson plans will include exercises to help with strength, endurance, coordination, balance, and cardiovascular health.
Do they need experience prior to starting?
Nope! The majority of our students have had no prior training.
Are there any additional costs or hidden fees?
We do not have any additional costs or hidden fees. We also do not have our students sign contracts! We use a honesty backed 30 day cancellation policy to stop all recurring memberships.
Will it make my child behavior better at home?
As your child continues through our character enhancement program you should see improvements from your child. As with anything, some improvements may be immediate, while others will take more time. Positive reinforcement from our instructors and parents will be beneficial to seeing results faster!
Will it make my child perform better in school?
Speaking from personal experience, the discipline I learned from the martial arts propelled me to my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Without the discipline, I learned through my martial arts training, I am not sure I would have even had the goal to earn my doctorate degree. I believe that as your children increase their confidence, increase their self-esteem, and learn to be disciplined this will result in a better performance in school and life.
How do you know what level to place my child(ren) in?
All students will start in Level 1 and will be placed into classes by age. The BRSD Tigers are ages 5 – 7. The BRSD Youth Class is ages 8 – 13. The Adult Class is ages 14 and older.
How long does it take to get a Black Belt?
In our school, a Black Belt is a long-term goal that takes approximately 4.5 years of training. A youth student must be the age of 12 to be eligible to test for his/her Black Belt.
What happens after the Trial is over?
After the trial membership, you have the option to continue your training at our school. We do not require students to sign contracts, all we ask is to notify us 30 days prior to stopping your monthly membership.
What if we decide we no longer want to do the trial?
If you decide that our school is not what you are looking for, you do not have to finish the four-week trial. If you feel that you were unsatisfied with our trial for any reason please see Ms. Cindy for a full refund.
